Heat exchanger with convergent-divergent tube supported by Ring-nets

Brief Introduction:

Consists of converged sections and diverged sections regularly which are made in rolling process. Compared with plain tube, the local velocity and pressure vary in the axial direction periodically to enhance the turbulent in the early stage.

Every transition between converged section and diverged section, Due to the local turbulent flow caused by the change of velocity magnitude and direction, the sublayer thickness reduces and the heat transfer coefficient increases.

Compared with the traditional tube and shell heat exchanger with baffles, the ring-nets change the flow from the transverse direction to longitudinal direction, disturb and turbulent can be enhanced caused by the surface shape of tube while fluid flowing longitudinally along the outside of tube. 1  Heat transfer can be enhanced in both tube side and shell side.

2  High heat transfer coefficient.

3  Low flow resistance.

4  High efficiency is kept with the elimination of the dead zoon and reduction of the fouling.

5 Fluid flowing in longitudinal direction can reduce the vibration of tube bundles to avoid the early damage.

6  Good anti-fouling performance because of local turbulent flow caused by the change of velocity magnitude and direction in every transition (between converge section and diverge section)

7  The C-D tube allows the fluid to contain some particles. Therefore, C-D tube has wide applications. Especially in the existing unit revamping , often the only change for exchangers is to replace the bundles while the unit capacity increased by 20~30%. No equipment foundation and piping system changes are needed.
